The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program provides formula funding designation for the $7.5 billion designated in BIL to build out a national network of EV charging stations.
NEVI is intended to build out the EV charging system along federally designated Alternative Fuel Corridors (AFCs). Wisconsin's include I-90, I-94, I-43, I-41, and I-535; US 53, US 151, parts of US 51, WIS 29, US 2 and US 141, and all of US 8 and US 41. HWY’s 2, 8, 29 and the northern most portion of 41 and 51 were requested by WisDOT and were approved to be added with the other federally designated alternative fuel corridors.
