Shared Garages - City of Madison

The Common Council of the City of Madison do ordain as follows:

Subparagraph 6. entitled "Shared Garages" of Subdivision (b) entitled "Location In Special And Residence Districts" of Subsection (5) entitled "Accessory Buildings" of Section 28.04 entitled "General Provisions" is created to read as follows

Shared Garages. A detached garage may be constructed across a lot line by abutting property owners, anywhere a garage might otherwise be permitted within 3 feet of the lot line, provided: 1) said garage is symmetrical; 2) there is a joint driveway thereto; and 3) the property owners have joint access and maintenance agreement relating to said shared garage."
