Establishing Salaries for Elected Officials - Hayward

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SALARY FOR THE ELECTED OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF HAYWARD

THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAYWARD DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Mayor: the salary for the mayor of the city of hayward is hereby established in the amount of $600.00 per month.

Section 2. Alderpersons: the salary for each alderperson in the city of hayward is hereby established in the amount of $300.00 per month.

Section 3. Payment: for any partial month where payment is required under the provisions of this ordinance, said monthly payment shall be pro-rated for the number of days served in the elective position during said month, based upon the aforesaid monthly salary. Payments due pursuant to this ordinance shall be made at least monthly.

Section 4. Effective date: said salaries shall become effective for the mayor and each respective alderperson after passage of this ordinance and publication hereof and upon subsequently becoming newly elected and upon qualifying for the respective position.

Section 5. Deduction for missed meetings: deductions from salaries for missed meetings will be $50.00 per meeting for any regular meetings and $25.00 per meeting for any special or committee meetings such council member or mayor is on.

Section 6. Effective date: said deductions shall become effective April 1, 1995.
