Restriction of Alcohol Beverages at the City Swimming Pool and Athletic Fields - City of Reedsburg

The City of Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin, does hereby ordain as follows:

SECTION I. PURPOSE.

The purpose of this ordinance is as follows:

The City Code currently allows fermented malt beverages, wine and intoxicating liquor in City parks. This ordinance restricts the consumption of these beverages at the City swimming pool and athletic fields unless sold by a City-licensed vendor.

SECTION II: PROVISION CREATED.

City of Reedsburg Code see. 12.04(14)(g) is created.

SECTION III: PROVISION AS CREATED.

City of Reedsburg Code sec. 12.04(14)(g) is created as follows:

No person shall consume or carry an open bottle, can or glass of fermented malt beverage, wine or intoxicating liquor at the City swimming pool or upon the athletic fields at Oak, Ramsey and Nishan Parks unless sold under a license granted by the City of Reedsburg. The area of the athletic fields at Nishan Park subject to this restriction is defined by lines extending East and West from the North and South Gates to the East and West boundary lines of the Park.

SECTION IV: VALIDITY.

Should any section, clause or provision of the ordinance be declared by the courts to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid.

SECTION V: CONFLICTING PROVISIONS REPEALED.

Al! ordinances in conflict with any provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

SECTION VI: EFFECTIVE DATE.

This ordinance shall be in force from and after its introduction and publication as provided by statute.

SECTION VII.

This ordinance becomes a part of the City of Reedsburg Code, Chapter 12.
